CCTV News: Haier: from Application to Preparation of Criteria On November 27, 2005, the CCTV News broadcast a report, titled Haier: from Application to Preparation of Technical Criteria, on Haier''s attempts and achievements in innovation and globalization practice. The article focuses upon Haier''s innovative mechanism for R&D of Haier environmentally friendly dual-drive washing machine, saying that "Haier developed the dual-drive washing machine by integrating the resources of 8 departments, including Intellectual Property Rights, Marketing, R&D and After-sales Service, not only of the R&D, for development of the dual-drive washing machine and made breakthrough of 15 technical barriers and 32 patent inventions during 4 years, which is half the period length scheduled in advance." "The innovative mechanism achieved in research on the dual-drive washing machine has enabled Haier to gain more than 70 additional patent technologies applied in production.
