Haier’s Independent innovative R&D System Contributes to China’s Spacecraft Development

Spacecraft refrigerator is one of the many difficulties blocking China from being prominent in aerospace field. China’s aerospace technology suffers from absolute blank of spacecraft refrigerator technology, because of the blockade on technology by developed countries. The result is that no refrigerator was seen during the first three times of China’s manned space missions executed by Chinese Shenzhou Spacecraft series.

“Since hardly technology is available for China to import, let along existing technology at home to take for reference in terms of spacecraft refrigerator, China has to start from zero. Haier enjoys world leading R&D teams and independent R&D system, and it is Haier’s superiority by which we made up our final decision,” said by Bai Yanqiang, Deputy Chief of China Astronaut Research and Training Center.

Haier has, so far, boasted one national key laboratory and two national engineering laboratories, and it has built up 10 R&D centers and 6 national cooperation laboratories across the world. Therefore, Haier can integrate the world’s leading resources for innovation rapidly, which support the technology research and experimental verification for spacecraft refrigerator.

Meanwhile, overseas R&D teams of Haier in Europe, America, Japan, etc, have effectively promoted the R&D of spacecraft refrigerator. Currently Haier has a strong R&D group of over 8,156 research personnels and 7 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences or Chinese Academy and Engineering.
